PURPOSE: A refractory composition for recovering waste heat from molten slag is provided to exhibit high chemical resistance even in contact with high-temperature byproducts such as molten slag for a long period. CONSTITUTION: A refractory composition for recovering waste heat from molten slag comprises: 30-50wt% spinel; 10-20wt% silicon nitride; 25-55wt% alumina; and the remainder of inevitably mixed impurities. The spinel represents a synthetic material consisting of magnesia and alumina. The spinel improves erosion resistance of the prepared refractory composition.
