A hollow body (8) has a flat elliptical casing linked on one side to the joint cartilage (7) of a severed hammer-anvil joint and on its other side to a base (21) placed into the niche of an oval window (6) and fixed in the osseous channel of the stapedial tendon. Vibrations in the ear-drum (1) are transmitted by the hammer (2), anvil (3) and joint cartilage onto the hollow body's thin shell.
