METHOD FOR TREATING MACULAR EDEMA AS COMPLICATION OF THROMBOSIS OF BRANCH OF CENTRAL RETINAL VEIN

A method for treating the macular edema as the complication of the thrombosis of the branch of central retinal vein comprises the administration of corticosteroid to subtenonic space followed by the laser coagulation of the affected macular area 7-10 days later. The puncture is performed with the needle of the intravenous cannula with the injection valve at a distance of 10-12 mm from the limb. Then the needle is removed, the cannula is passed to the posterior subtenonic space, the syringe is attached, and 1 mL of delayed-release methylprednisolone is injected.
