PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sampling rate conversion device and its conversion method capable of raising a sampling rate of a discrete audio signal which is sampled with a prescribed rate by using a fractal interpolation function (FIF). SOLUTION: The sampling rate conversion method comprises the steps of: dividing an audio signal portion 1 composed of the prescribed number of sampling data into a plurality of interpolation periods IT1 to IT6; determining a mapping point 2 of the number according to a raising degree of the sampling rate on the audio signal portion 1; calculating a mapping parameter for performing the FIF mapping on the mapping point for each interpolation period; and generating a new sampling data 3 by performing the FIF mapping on the mapping point 1 by using the mapping parameter according to each interpolation period in all the interpolation periods IT1 to IT6.
