<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope capable of preventing or reducing the damage to built-in elements in a bending part of an insertion tube as the built-in elements are forcibly deformed with the pressure of a position restraining member inserted for preventing the damage such as an injury caused by the relative movement among the built-in elements, and capable of preventing or reducing the injuries to the surface of the built-in elements, etc. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The endoscope comprises the insertion tube having a distal end hard part and a flexible part on either side of the flexibly bending part, a plurality of built-in elements disposed inside the insertion tube, and the position restraining member for restraining the built-in elements from moving in the radial direction.
