The method involves starting instant messenger (IM)-application programs (421, 431, 521, 531) installed at computers (42, 52) and network storages (43, 53) e.g. web disk. An instant message is transmitted using an instant messenger, and network address transmission (NAT)routers (41, 51) of private networks (4, 5) are penetrated by the message. The storages are reached by the message over an Internet (2), and a control command character string present in the message is read by the storages. An action corresponding to the character string is executed by data of a dataset. An independent claim is also included for a network storage with an instant messenger (IM)-application program for automatically registering a network storage at an IM server in an Internet.
