<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a jam when a medium is ejected. <P>SOLUTION: A medium cutting device 10 cutting a conveyed continuous medium 5 into a predetermined length includes: a cutting section 92 that has a freely rotatable cutting roller 95 having on its outer circumferential surface a cutting blade 94 that cuts the continuous medium 5, and an anvil roller 96 disposed opposite the cutting roller 95; and a brush roller 93a that is disposed downstream of the cutting section 92 in the direction of conveyance and opposite the cutting section 92, and prevents a sheet-like recording medium 87 cut by the cutting section 92 from being wrapped around one of the rollers of the cutting section 92.
