PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range hood capable of coping with a thin-hood by reducing the total height of the hood. SOLUTION: A top face section 4 of a recessed section 5 for capturing, of the hood 1 is composed of a guide section 6 having a suction opening, and a swirl flow generating section 7, oily smoke generated in cooking collides with the top face section 4 as upward flow and flows along the guide section 6, a part of the oily smoke is sucked from a suction opening and exhausted outdoors, and the swirl flow generating section 7 generates the swirl flow of the remaining oily smoke, so that the oily smoke does not leak from a hood front end section even when a vertical dimension of the swirl flow generating section 7 is reduced, and the total height of the hood can be reduced.
