<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of predicting and correcting the variation of the RF irradiation gain based on the variation of temperature caused by the operation of the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The initial RF gain is adjusted, and a subject 1 is photographed. Then, the quantity of applied gradient magnetic fields is computed by an RF irradiation gain correcting device 26. The rate of change of the RF irradiation gain is computed based on the computed quantity of applied gradient magnetic fields to determine whether the rate of change of the RF irradiation gain exceeds a threshold or not. If the rate of change of the RF irradiation gain exceeds the threshold, the RF irradiation gain correcting device 26 adjust the RF irradiation gain based on the rate of change of the RF irradiation gain.
