PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice transplanter which can prevent a travel due to an error operation during a seedling-adding work, and to provide a rice transplanter which can prevent the lack of seedlings due to an error operation during a seedling-planting travel. SOLUTION: The rice transplanter 1 having a continuously variable transmission 13 for travelling, a planting device 30 for planting seedlings in a field, and a lifting or lowering device 50 for lifting or lowering the planting device 30, includes a speed-changing operation section 63 for performing speed-changing operations, an operation quantity-detecting unit 64 for detecting the operation quantity of the speed-changing operation section 63, an actuator 65 for transmission-operating the continuously variable transmission 13 in proportion to the operation quantity of the speed-changing operation section 63 detected with the operation quantity-detecting unit 64, a seedling-adding switch 62, and a controller 61, wherein the controller 61 controls to negate a signal from the operation quantity-detecting unit 64 to stop the actuator 65, when the seedling-adding switch 62 detects the addition of seedlings.
