<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer reservation in a way easy to be recognized by a user, in a video recording system to which a plurality of video recording devices capable of supporting recording reservation are connected over a network. <P>SOLUTION: A video recording device of a reservation transfer source issues an inquiry for reservation transfer to a video recording device of a reservation transfer destination candidate, and determines a reservation transfer destination using an inquiry result information. Then, the video recording device of the reservation transfer source outputs a reservation transfer destination information, and transmits a request for reservation transfer to the video recording device of the reservation transfer destination candidate, based on the reservation transfer destination information. The video recording device of the reservation transfer destination candidate receives the inquiry for reservation transfer, and transmits information about reservation transfer propriety as the inquiry result information.
