<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device suitable to allow a single image pickup element to pick up an image of an infrared region and an image of a visible light region, and to provide a color filter array. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image pickup device 100 includes: a color filter array 13 composed of a color filter section for separating light of the wavelength corresponding to one kind of color element among predetermined R, G, B from a received light and infrared light and letting the separated light be incident into each pixel, and an incident light permeable section for allowing an incident light to pass without any change; an image sensor section 14; and a signal processing section 15 for extracting an infrared component based on three kinds of pixel data including the infrared light component outputted from the image sensor section 14 and a color component and pixel data including all the visible light component and the infrared component, and generating visible light region image data and infrared region image data, based on the extracted infrared component and the three kinds of pixel data.
