<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet head and a liquid jet apparatus that can achieve high quality printing irrespective of the viscosity of liquid. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid jet head includes a nozzle opening 21 for discharging a liquid, a pressure generation chamber 11 in communication with the nozzle opening 21 which receives pressure, and a pressure generation means for applying pressure to the pressure generation chamber 11. A liquid discharge passage 60 for running the liquid is provided between the pressure generation chamber 11 and the nozzle opening 21. The liquid discharge passage 60 has a small diameter portion 61 and an expanded portion 62 positioned nearer to the nozzle opening 21 than the small diameter portion 61 and provided with a larger passage area than that of the small diameter portion 61.
