<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a partition wall structure, having a fire resisting structure and excellent crime preventive performance, ensuring a quiet interior space, enlarging the living space, and improving installation efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this partition wall structure, a plurality of backing panels 1 are erected between an upper rail 2 and a lower rail 3 fixed to a ceiling and a floor surface along the wall axis, respectively, the wall surfaces 1C of the backing panels are connected in parallel on the outer one side along the wall axis 9, and the adjacent backing panels are connected to each other by projecting and recessed parts to form a partition bed. In the sectional forms of the backing panels, a tabular steel plate is bent inward like a U-shape, and fitted with a lip, and further one of the U-shaped flange is bent to be projected, and the other of the flange part is bent to be recessed.
