PURPOSE: A parking brake apparatus for an auto transmission is provided to decrease the size of parking brake by inducing the sprag operation using the canceled trigger pressure. CONSTITUTION: A parking brake apparatus for an auto transmission includes a control valve(20) receiving the trigger pressure provided by the oil pressure supply source and selectively outputting the result; a switching valve(30) dissolving the constraint of the parking gear from the control valve in the authentication of the trigger pressure; a switching valve equipped with the spool which is operated to confine the parking gear; an input port which communicates the control valve and the switching valve.
