摘要 PURPOSE: A system and a method for controlling the camera operation for a vehicle are provided to prevent consumption of unnecessary electric power by minimizing a flickering of a display unit due to the ON/OFF repetition of the camera. CONSTITUTION: A system for controlling the camera operation for a vehicle comprises a plurality of cameras(10), an operating switch(20), a speed perception sensor(30) and a control unit(40). A plurality of cameras is installed on the back or front optional location of the vehicle. The camera outputs a photographing signal after photographing backward and forward of the vehicle in response to a photographing control signal. The operating switch outputs a camera operation starting signal by a driver. The speed perception sensor senses the present speed of the vehicle. The control unit controls the cameras one the camera operation starting signal is input from the operating switch. The control unit receives a current speed value of the vehicle from the speed perception sensor and compares to a first critical value. The control unit outputs a photographing control signal to the camera, if the first critical value is smaller than the current speed value.
