The invention relates to a tubular turbine generator unit comprising a turbine rotor; a drive shaft, which is connected rotationally fixed to the turbine rotor; an electrical generator having a generator rotor and a generator stator, wherein said generator rotor is at least indirectly driven by said driveshaft; a tubular turbine housing, which encloses the electric generators; a bearing arrangement, which is disposed inside the tubular turbine housing and is used for mounting the drive shaft; characterized in that at least one spatial area which can be flooded is provided in the interior of the tubular turbine housing, which is flooded with water in operation of the tubular turbine generator unit, wherein the generator gap between said generator rotor and said generator stator and the bearing gap of said bearing arrangement are part of the spatial area which can be flooded.
