An oil seal is constructed from a press fitting section (52) press fitted over a circular tubular projection (31a) of a case (31), a seal section (54) axially offset from the press fitting section (52) by the presence of a circular tube section (56) and a tapered section (58) and sealing an input shaft (42), and a heat dissipating plate (59) mounted to the inner surfaces of the circular tube section (56) and the tapered section (58). The oil seal (50) is placed so that an oil discharge opening of the input shaft (42) is located in an inner space surrounded by the heat dissipating plate (59). The construction enables oil scattered by rotation of the input shaft (42) to be received by the heat dissipating plate (59), so that heat generated in the seal section (54) by rotational sliding of the input shaft (42) is dissipated by heat exchange with oil via the heat dissipating plate (59).
