<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device which can change the printing requirements as required when printing a document file memorized in an external memory such as USB memory, and a printing method for a printing device. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 2 is provided with a file managing section 320 which manages a configuration describing file SF or a document file DF memorized in an USB memory 4, a print controlling section 321 which controls a batch printing of document files DF following the configuration describing file SF, and a file printing section 322 which conducts the printing process of the document file DF upon receipt of a printing request from the print controlling section 321 when the USB memory 4 which memorizes the configuration describing file SF or the document file DF is mounted on USBI/F31.
