<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breathing component detection device capable of suitably discharging remaining expired gas while maintaining usability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The breathing component detection device for detecting breath components has a breathing detection sensor section 10 comprising a breathing detection sensor 12 for detecting components of a driver's breath, a breathing port 11 as a breath inlet port, and a discharge port 14 as a breathing discharge port, wherein the breathing detection sensor section 10 is installed in front of an air outlet opening of an air conditioner for a vehicle with the discharge port 14 thereof facing the air outlet opening.
