Disclosed is a detergent composition containing (a) a nonionic surfactant containing a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether having an average mole number of added alkylene oxide of 4-8; (b) an anionic surfactant (excluding fatty acids and salts thereof); and (c) not less than 3% by weight of a clay mineral represented by the following general formula (I): [Si8(MgaAlb)O20(OH)4]x-·Mex+ (I) (wherein 0 < a <= 6, 0 < b <= 4, x = 12-2a-3b, and Me represents at least one of Na, K, Li, Ca, Mg and NH4). The weight ratio between the component (a) and the component (b), namely [(a)/(b)] is more than 1 but less than 5. |
