<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bow for a stringed instrument, which automatically adjusts the tension of bow hair. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The bow 2 for a stringed instrument includes a tension sensor 14 for measuring the tension of bow hair 12 and a motor 16 for adjusting the tension of the bow hair 12 based on the difference between the value measured by the tension sensor 14 and a reference value. The tension sensor 14 and the motor 16 are provided, thereby automatically adjusting the tension of the bow hair 12. The tension of the bow hair can be kept constant even during the performance.
