<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the capacity of a buffer to be needed in imaging in which image data are thinned. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Continuously captured image data are divided into three groups in a time sequential order. In the most newly captured first group, all the captured image data are held in a buffer. The image data of the second group are divided again into sub groups by each Nth power of 2. In the second group, the number of the image data held in the buffer in a certain sub group is double the number of the image data held in the buffer in the sub group captured in the past adjacent to the sub group.
