PURPOSE: A device for clamping and unclamping a tool of an automatic tool changing device is provided to prevent sponge phenomenon since it obtains the unclamp power using pneumatic force. CONSTITUTION: A device for clamping and unclamping a tool of an automatic tool changing device comprises a first air valve(28), a second air valve(30), a first piston(25), a third air valve(34), a first spring(22) and a second piston(23). The first and second air valves supply the air to a first air chamber(27). The first pistons are installed between the first air valve and the second air valve. The first piston moves back and forth by the air from the first and second air valves. The third air valve supplies the air to a second air chamber(31). The first spring is installed in the front of the second air chamber. The second piston is installed between the third air valve and the first spring. The second piston moves back and forth by the restitution force of the first spring or the air pressure from the third air valve.
