<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid injection head capable of decreasing defects such as short-circuiting or the like, inhibiting a drop in a displacement quantity of a vibrating plate and decreasing the occurrence of a crack or the like in the vibrating plate. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A piezoelectric element 300 includes a piezoelectric layer 71 sandwiched by a lower electrode 60 and an upper electrode 80. A deformation restraining layer 72 including composition not allowing moisture to pass through easily compared to the piezoelectric layer 71 is alternately and continuously formed with piezoelectric layer 71 in a line direction of a pressure generation chamber 12. In addition, a deformation restraining layer 72 is formed in a region opposite to a bulkhead 11 pinching at least the vibrating plate 56. The piezoelectric layer 71 is surrounded by the lower electrode 60, the upper electrode 80, and at least one of the vibrating plate 56 or the deformation restraining layer 72 constituting the piezoelectric element 300.
