PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To advise a user of an appropriate print size when the user makes a print order.

SOLUTION: The user inputs an image for which a photographic print is required, and the number of pixels and the spatial frequency of the input data are acquired. A maximum print size is calculated based on the acquired number of pixels of the image and a relationship between the numbers of pixels and print sizes. An optimal print size is calculated based on the acquired spatial frequency of the image and a relationship between spatial frequencies and print sizes. It is determined whether a print size inputted by the user is smaller than an optimal print size. When the result of the determination is positive, the change of the print size is proposed so that the user makes a print order for the calculated optimal print size.
