<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly perform the fine adjustment for a footstep of an inside deck in the proceeding direction. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a handrail device of a passenger conveyor which adjusts the position of a footstep of an inside deck 17 in the proceeding direction relative to a panel supporting member 2 by moving a mounting fitting 10 along an oblong hole 9, the mounting fitting 10 has a fastening section 14 which is separated from a top surface 19 of the panel supporting member 2 and in which its upper edge part is fastened by an inside deck fixing screw 16, and guiding sections 15 and 15 which are provided on both sides of the fastening section 14 and contacted with the top surface 19.
