PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for conveying a sheet-shaped object that prevents the end of a conveyed sheet-shaped object from being damaged or bounding due to collision with the bottom of an approach path of an impeller, or a stopper or the like. SOLUTION: The apparatus for conveying the sheet-shaped object includes a plurality of the impellers 3 juxtaposedly arranged to have predetermined axial spaces, respectively, which admit a signature 1 conveyed by a conveying belt 2 into the approach path 3a between blades 3e opposed to each other, and rotationally convey it; and the stopper 4c disposed between the impellers 3, which regulates the end of the signature 1 admitted into the approach path 3a by the conveying belt 2, and discharges the signature 1 from the inside of the impellers 3. In this apparatus, a brake guide 4d is disposed between the impellers 3 upstream of the rotating direction of the impellers 3 of the stopper 4c, and the brake guide 4d and the ends of the blades 3e are adapted to reduce the speed of the sheet-shaped object.
