The method involves selecting a distance body with controllably influenceable geometry, in which the connected components joined by the distance body have different acoustic impedances for the conductance of sound in solids. The distance body introduces secondary vibrations in the region of higher modes of the sound in solids. Piezo elements (4) can be integrated into a seal (1) and electrically contacted. An Independent claim is also included for a device to influence possible solid sound conductors and sound emanations from objects.
