<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission/reception apparatus capable of improving substantial throughput of communication by: reducing the occurrence of delay of a process required for forming transmission data including coupling processing when the coupling processing of transmission data to a physical frame is applied; and reducing a loss in a communication band, and to provide a data transmission/reception system. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A slave set acquires the assigned maximum value included in an ACH signal in a frame F1, creates a band assignment request, and creates coupled information and transmits the created information in a frame F2. The slave set creates coupled data in a frame F3. In a master set, band assignment schedule processing is executed in the frame F3, and a schedule result is transmitted in a frame F4. The slave set which has acquired the schedule information in the frame F4 transmits the coupled data based on a timing of a transmission start time of band assignment included in the schedule information.
