<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode mixture for an alkaline battery excellent in cost performance and moldability. <P>SOLUTION: The cathode mixture for an alkaline battery used for an alkaline battery 11 contains manganese dioxide as a cathode active material, and graphite as a conductive agent. With the cathode mixture, an average particle diameter of the manganese oxide is within the range of 30 μm or more and 70 μm or less, an average particle diameter of the graphite is within the range of 60 μm or more and 280 μm or less, and an average particle diameter ratio of the graphite to the manganese oxide is within the range of 2.0 or more to 4.0 or less.
