<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a function expansion program capable of flexibly dealing with an increase and decrease in attribute data constituting all sorts of information handled in the apparatus caused by the expansion of a function without changing the software components of the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus 100 includes a software environment in which a function U owned by the apparatus is added and deleted by a plug-in 30 and has a storage unit 110 which stores, in a prescribed storage region, information that is composed of one or more attribute data and the function U uses. In response to a request for generating information the function U uses, an information management means 22 instructs an information generation means 31 having registration information in which a software component 32 for constructing/deleting the attribute data of the information is installed and registered in the apparatus in accordance with the plug-in 30, to generate information designated when requested, and the information generation means 31 executes the specified software component 32 on the basis of the registration information to generate the information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
