<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging device which generates less heat and loses less power to be able to highly precisely detect a fully charged state of the secondary battery. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The charging device includes a constant voltage charging unit 18 which charges a chargeable battery 14 with constant voltage, a constant current charging unit 20 which charges the chargeable battery 14 with constant current, a resistance R1 which converts charge current into voltage, a resistance R2 which monitors the charge current by monitoring current mirroring the charge current that flows outside a semiconductor integrated circuit, a charge current detecting circuit 22 which detects the charge current, and a control unit 24 which controls the constant voltage charging unit 18 and the constant current charging unit 20, based on output from the charge current detecting circuit 22. Output from the resistance R1 and voltage output from the resistance R2 generated by converting the current mirroring the charge current into the voltage are given to the charge current detecting circuit 22 to compensate an error caused by the temperature characteristics of the semiconductor integrated circuit.
