PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus more friendly to the environment. SOLUTION: The navigation apparatus specifies a departing place and a destination according to user's operation (S100), calculates the distance between the departing place and the destination and determines whether the distance is not more than a predetermined threshold (S102), and urges the user to travel on foot when the distance between the departing place and the destination is not more than the predetermined threshold (S106).
