<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen capable of appropriately diffusing and reflecting projection light having an incident angle in a front direction, and capable of preventing external light from being reflected toward the observer side, thereby improving a contrast in a projected image in a bright room or the like; and to provide a projection system using the screen. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Regarding diffusing surfaces RS, each is formed to be disposed closer to the incident side of the projection light PL than a reference plane VS formed by connecting the upper end UE and the lower end DE. Accordingly, among the incident external light OL, components made incident on the diffusing surface RS and diffused and reflected by the diffusing surface RS are absorbed by a light absorbing surface AS or oriented in directions other than the observer's direction.
