PURPOSE: A bearing of a spindle motor is provided to reduce frictional heat and frictional noise by reducing a contact area with a rotation shaft. CONSTITUTION: A spindle motor includes a rotation shaft, a bearing(130), and a plate. The rotation shaft supports a rotor case. The bearing rotatably supports the rotation shaft. The plate has a bearing holder for holding the bearing. The bearing is point-contacted with the rotation shaft to reduce the contact area. The bearing has a shaft insertion part(131) into which the rotation shaft is inserted. The shaft insertion part has a square section to contact with the rotation shaft at four points.
