PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance measuring device and its program for performing distance measurement putting priority on high-accuracy measurement with simple operation. SOLUTION: When an image is obtained, a point having a characteristic point evaluation value within a predetermined range is detected as a characteristic point, a mark (601) is attached to information representing the obtained characteristic point, and a mark (610) is attached to a characteristic point selected at present by a right and left cursor, to display them together with a reference image on an LCD monitor 4 as shown in Drawing 6(a). When one out of pieces of information representing the displayed characteristic point, is selected by moving the right and left cursor and operating a set key, it is displayed as a first selected point (620) as shown by Drawing 6(b). Next, a predetermined range for detection of characteristic point evaluation values is changed, and a characteristic point detected in the changed range is displayed with a mark (602) as shown in Drawing 6(c). Similarly to the first selected point, a second selected point (630) is selected and displayed as in Drawing 6(d), and the distance between the selected two points is measured and displayed as shown in Drawing 6(e).
