Disclosed is an immunoassay method for influenza A virus subtype H5, which can measure accurately even when the influenza A virus subtype H5 has mutation to some extent. Also disclosed is a kit for the method. Further disclosed is a novel anti-(influenza A virus subtype H5) monoclonal antibody which can be used for the immunoassay. Specifically disclosed is an antibody or an antigen-binding fragment thereof. The antibody or the antigen-binding fragment thereof can cause an antigen-antibody reaction with hemagglutinin of influenza A virus subtype H5. The corresponding epitope of the antibody or the antigen-binding fragment thereof is not present in a receptor subdomain (excluding a region composed of 11 amino acid residues from the C-terminal of the receptor subdomain), and therefore the antibody or the antigen-binding fragment thereof have no neutralizing activity on the influenza A virus.
