A current detector is provided with a board-like conductor (4), which forms a loop-like current path (2a) by being folded back at a certain point in the longitudinal direction to face each other in parallel and has a prescribed width (w1). The current detector is also provided with a magneto-electric transducer (2), which is arranged between the conductors (4; 4a, 4b) facing each other in parallel so that a magneto-sensitive axis faces the width direction of the conductor (4), and has a length (a) in the magneto-sensitive axis direction smaller than the width (w1) of the conductor.
