<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic pen that, even with the use of a system in which a user writes on paper, with the written contents directly turned to electronic data and utilized by a communication terminal, the handwriting can be easily erased without damaging dot patterns on the printing face, and that has convenience and cost effectiveness of surely reutilizing the exclusive paper sheet, and also to provide a replacement pen unit used for the electronic pen. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic pen 1 includes a pen unit 2 that contains an ink 24 for writing on an exclusive paper sheet with dot patterns printed and a reading unit that optically reads the dot patterns, wherein the ink 24 contained in the pen unit 2 becomes colorless by heating.
