<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management device, and method or the like, allowing handling in a document management structure wherein appropriate classification changes with a lapse along taste or a purpose of an individual. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This document management device hierarchically disposing and managing a plurality of files includes: a tag impartment means to a folder imparting a tag to a folder that is a node in a hierarchical structure allowing storage of at least one of the plurality of files; and a tag impartment means to the file imparting the tag to the file. The document management device also includes an access setting means allowing access from the file to the folder imparted, by the tag impartment means to the folder, with the same tag as the tag imparted by the tag impartment means to the file.
