<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner excellent in cleaning property of a transfer residue toner on an intermediate transfer body during continuous printing at a high printing rate under an low temperature and low humidity environment, in an image forming method including a cleaning step of a transfer residue toner on an intermediate transfer body by use of a fixed charging brush. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The toner is to be used for an image forming method employing a fixed charging brush that has a density of bristles ranging from 1.0×10<SP>6</SP>to 1.0×10<SP>9</SP>(number/m<SP>2</SP>) and an average diameter I (μm) of a single bristle ranging from 10 to 30 (μm), wherein the toner is characterized in that an average circularity R of the toner by a flow type particle image analyzer and a ratio N (%) of the number of particles having a diameter of not more than I/10 (μm) with respect to the number of whole particles satisfy 0.05≤(1-R)×N≤5.00 and 0.900≤R≤0.995.
