摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge pump of which power loss is low even under a heavy load, with high step-up efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A voltage generation circuit comprises two electric charge transfer circuits in which a plurality of electric charge transfer switches are connected in series and operated with reciprocal clock signals, and capacitors 51, 52, 53, and 54 in which one ends thereof are connected to respective nodes of the electric charge transfer circuit while the other ends are driven by the reciprocal clock signals. The electric charge transfer circuit comprises a first control part 2 comprising NMOS 211 and 212 for transferring electric charge from a power source input node 10 to respective capacitors 51 at the first stage, a second control part 4 comprising NMOS 411 and 412 for transferring electric charge from the capacitors 51 and 52 to the capacitors 53 and 54 on the next stage, and switches 401, 403, 402, and 404 for selectively supplying a signal from the node at the previous stage or the signal from the node at the following stage to the gate terminal according to the reciprocal clock signals, and a voltage comparison output part equipped with an electric charge transfer switch consisting of PMOS 311 and 312 for transferring electric charge from the capacitors 53 and 54 at the last stage to an output node 17.
