PURPOSE: A fuel pump for an internal combustion engine is provided to prevent pressure rise which is not allowed in a blocking control space and separate the inflow of the fuel into a high pressure space and the outflow of the fuel from the high pressure space. CONSTITUTION: A fuel pump for an internal combustion engine comprises a blocking control space(19). The blocking control space is connected to a high pressure space via one or more blocking control grooves(24) and one or more blocking control holes(22). Each piston opens each intake hole and induces the inflow of the fuel from an intake space to the high pressure space or opens each blocking control hole and induces the outflow of the fuel from the high pressure space to the blocking control space.
