The ammonia converter (1) comprises a radially flowed-through catalyst bed (2), which concentrically surrounds a heat exchanger (3), an external- (8) and/or an internal annular space intended between an outer wall of the converter and an external cylinder coat (10) of the catalyst bed and/or between an internal cylinder wall of the catalyst bed and a flow-guide cylinder surrounding the heat exchanger tubes, and a main flow direction formed by the catalyst bed radially from outside to inside or radially from the inside to outside. One of the annular spaces is provided with static mixers to a spiral-shaped flow pipeline through the annular spaces. The static mixers are formed as flow turning vanes. Flow guide plates are intended in the intake region of the flow to the heat exchangers for producing a spiral flow. The mixers intended in the annular spaces are formed as discontinuous spiral sections. A coiling is formed in the different annular spaces in the same direction or in the opposite direction. |
