PURPOSE: A photo-based alignment material is provided to improve the reliability for the manufacture of a photo-based alignment material by containing a structure where cyclohexane is bonded to one side of a double bond between carbons. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a display substrate comprises the steps of: forming a pixel unit on a base substrate; forming an alignment film by applying a photo-based alignment material on a base substrate having the pixel unit; and irradiating light to a base substrate formed with the alignment film. The photo-based alignment material includes a photoalignment polymer having a photoreaction portion represented by chemical formula 1.
