PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating system and a coating method where the charging time of a coating material to a coating tank can be reduced while suppressing the increase of equipment cost and maintenance cost. SOLUTION: The coating system comprises: coating material tanks 30B to 30E freely attachable/detachable to a coating machine or built therein; and coating material feeding means 50B to 50E for feeding a coating material to the coating material tanks 30B to 30E. The coating material feeding means 50B to 50E comprises: intermediate tanks 70B to 70E arranged between a feed source of the coating material and the coating material tanks 30B to 30E; feed piping systems 66B to 66E connecting the feed source of the coating material and the intermediate tanks 70B to 70E, and through which the coating material is press-fed; and transfer piping systems 64B to 64E connecting the intermediate tanks 70B to 70E and the coating material tanks 30B to 30E, and through which the coating material fed to the intermediate tanks 70B to 70E is press-fed.
