PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which makes an action presented by a functional material compatible with an absorption performance required for the absorbent article without deactivation of the functional material nor the spoiling of the absorbency as caused by the functional material during its application. SOLUTION: The absorbent article (1) comprises its body (10) with a liquid-permeable top sheet (11), a liquid-impermeable back sheet (12) and an absorbent (13) sandwiched between both the sheets (11 and 12), and a flap (20) extended outward in the width direction from both left and right side rims of the body (10).
