<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power factor improving device which continuously performs power factor control to cause a power factor to approach an ideal state 1 and allows a leading power factor to be adjustable as well. <P>SOLUTION: The power factor improving device comprises a rotary field type synchronous machine 12, an APFR device 13 which performs control for automatically keeping the power factor of the synchronous machine 12 at a set power factor by supplying a DC power to a rotary field of the synchronous machine 12, and a circuit breaker 14 which connects/disconnects the synchronous machine 12 and the APFR device 13 to/from a user load 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
