<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a homo allyl alcohol, comprising allylating a ketone in the presence of indium as a catalyst in water, and to provide an asymmetric catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: Provided is the method for producing the homo allyl alcohol, such as 3-methyl-2-phenylpent-4-en-2-ol, which comprises reacting a ketophenone represented by formula I, such as acetophenone, with an α-substituted allyl boronate represented by formula II, such as pinacolyl α-methyl allyl borate, in the presence of zero-valent indium as a catalyst in water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
